Setting up Savin Scanner\Printer to Scan to Computer or Local Network Location
If setting up remotely, remote into the user's computer using Quick Assist
Create Folder to scan to on the computer or network drive
(Scan to Network drive is used for computers on the domain since the user's are required to change their computer password and we don't want to have to update the scanner profile every time their password is changed)
- Navigate to the Root of C:\ (Or the network folder if setting up scan to network drive\folder)
- Right click and select New Folder
- Name the folder Scan or Scans(Skip the rest of the steps in this section for network drive setup)
- Right click the Scan folder and select properties
- Select the Sharing tab
- Add a user
- Select Everyone from the dropdown and click add
- Give Everyone Read\Write privileges
Adding the Folder Destination on the Ricoh
- Go to the copier’s Web Interface (get there by typing the copier IP Address into the search bar of any browser) EXAMPLE: https://192.168.1.80
- Login with (Admin [may be admin, username is case sensitive], Leave password field blank)
- Go to Address Book
- Add new Destination
- Under Protocol Select SMB
- Enter user's name
- Path = the full folder share path that we created earlier. EXAMPLE: \\Computer Name or IP Address\Scans or \\Network IP\Folder\Scan
- The username field is filled with the user's Username and Password for the computer or network drive
